Thanks to Chris & Jim for taking their time to make the Camp a little safer for all. The tree had been bored and marked as a danger tree by an arborist and needed to come down before it came down out of control! Now all we need is a sawmill or someone with an Alaskan Mill and a bunch of time to make some beautiful fir beams for the picnic shelter. Anyone with a HUGE chainsaw sitting around waiting... here's your chance! Give me a call or drop an e-mail. Thanks

Thoughts about Camp Rules

I think I heard someone say: If you don't know why the rule had to be written - Someone's gone and done it! If you want to know why, - volunteer to be in charge for a year or two - or 20.
Please just obey the existing rules and think:
If we do "this" and 6,000 other people did the same, how long would it take to trash the place?

I'm going to have to add another rule: No cooking bacon inside the lodge.... especially directly on the stove top! What a filthy smoky mess!!!

Fall Work Day - Always the last Saturday of September.

Big THANKS to all who were brave enough to leave the rain in town and come out to beautiful, sunny... well at least not raining, Chilliwack Lake Camp!

We had 58 workers out for the day. Groups and individuals took on jobs maintaining and improving the facility for all users.

We had a crew dedicated to keeping the energy levels up by feeding us a great breakfast, coffee break, lunch and dinner. Thanks to the kitchen crew for your hard work! (I'm sorry I didn't catch them all in one place, but here are a few of them) Left to right: Louise, Trish, Allison & Dorothy are in this Pic. Louise, Hiroko & Kathie also worked hard preparing food and cleaning up in the kitchen.
Jobs were being done from the gate to the lake, and from the Chapel at the south end, to the North end Camping area. Thanks to those that built, moved, dug, cut, raked, cleaned ...... in no particular order & hopefully don't miss anyone or any jobs:

Who said the water was too cold in September?

Sunday afternoon recreation - Sept 9 / 07 Kris & Carter Re-Chaining the log boom.

The boom helps keep driftwood out and the dock in place as well as giving the kids a great swimming area!

Chwk Lake Camp is within the Provincial Park.

Just a reminder for all. We are in the Provincial Park. We don't want to aggravate our landlords. We have about 6,000 person days per year. If all came over to your house and urinated in the corner or behind a tree, drove around in your yard and used compressed air to spread litter........
******No paintball, airsoft pellets, vehicles on the beach, or any use of unlicenced vehicles within the Provincial Park. *******

Here is the group pic from our last work day. We fed 87 people (and a few mosquitoes) there for the day and really improved the Camp.

Thanks again to all who participate on work days and also all that keep the camp clean, neat and maintained while using the facility. This year has been very good for maintenance!!
